Orgelkids Begun in the Netherlands, Orgelkids has reached the US with Orgelkids USA. Orgelkids entices the public to engage with the pipe organ in an entirely new and powerful way by inviting them to build a working pipe organ. Our chapter purchased an Organ Kit in 2022 with it being delivered in 2023 with funds from our chapter’s Endowment and Discretionary Funds. The organ is a two rank, one manual, tracker organ that can be assembled and disassembled by children, youth, and adults. Possible uses are using it with children’s choirs, summer music camps, youth or adult Sunday school classes, church meetings, private and public school settings, museums, and public venues. It is a great way to show the workings of an organ to pique interest and understanding of the organ. We hope our members will find a variety of ways to use our new Organ Kit. To borrow the Organ Kit you must be a member of the Nashville AGO chapter and need to contact Stephen Cook at scook@nashvillewpc.org to make a reservation. He will check the organ kit schedule to let you know if it's available. If it is, fill out the rental agreement if renting it for a member’s church or fill out the loan agreement if a chapter member is borrowing it to use in a non-church venue that has been approved by the Executive Committee). Return the completed form and any checks if needed to Stephen Cook, Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3900 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN 37205. Additionally, before borrowing it one must attend one of the classes regarding the assembly, care, and packing of the instrument within one year prior to use of the kit.
